HISTORY OF Thuya Lakes Lodge

Photo of cabin by lake

Thuya Lakes Lodge has been around for many years. During the 1940’s, the resort was situated across Thuya Lake from its present location – remnants of the old cabins still remain.

Guests were picked up at a “Roadhouse”, and brought in by horses. The lakes were also stocked during these years with wild Kamloops trout , and these stocker fish were brought in by horseback as well.

In the early 1950’s, the resort was moved to its present site – construction of the existing log lodge was finished, and three small cabins were built. Throughout the years, more cabins, a washroom facility and several other outbuildings have been added.

The Jeanson's have turned over the helm to the Beeman's at the end of the 2007 season. We wish Luke, Darlene, Jodi and Jeremy all the very best in their future endeavors, and hope to have them visit the lodge over the years. Neil and Dawn look forward to carrying on the fine traditions at Thuya Lakes Lodge, and starting a few new ones.

As for the Beeman's history, they have taken several trips to other fishing lodges with their extended family and loved every minute of it! This makes it easy for them to help you enjoy your trip. Their experience in the outfitting business will translate nicely into the fishing business. Catering to the avid outdoorsmen and women is their specialty!

If you are looking for a small, private, remote resort that you can drive into, with great service, and some of the best meals around, if you like small lakes, like to flyfish, like to hike, then you will surely love Thuya Lakes Lodge .
