FLY FISHING WILD RAINBOW TROUT IN BC

Expect to find some of the best wild Kamloops rainbow trout fly fishing in the province of British Columbia at Thuya Lakes Lodge. The lakes range in elevation from 3800 to 5400 feet ensuring good angling throughout the season – from June until September.

Thuya Lakes Lodge is the only one in the area, and with over 30 small, well managed mountain lakes to choose from, you will certainly be assured of privacy.

Varying in size and deepness – most are under a mile long with an average depth of 45 feet – all self-spawn with BC's wild Kamloops trout .

The geography of the area is smaller mountainous with heavily forested wilderness areas surrounding.

We love seeing the families out fishing together teaching young anglers how to enjoy one of our favorite pasttimes. We'll make sure we point you in the right direction so young anglers can be successful without all the pressure and boredom!

More challenging trophy stillwaters produce 3 to 4 pounders, with the odd “lunker” up to 8 pounds for the patient and expert fly fisherman.

We have not allowed the use of gas motors or use of tackle such as “gangtrolls” for many years, and promoted fly fishing long before it became popular. There is ample feed, and the hatches are spectacular!
